Lent

I can't believe it's Lent time again! I uploaded a video this Monday talking a little bit about Lent, but I decided I would also do a little blog post about it. Maybe one of my Lenten resolutions (is that a thing?) should be to upload a blog post everyday. It should not be to hard... for as long as I have ideas (and motiviation). But Lent is a great part of our faith. It is a great time of Fasting and Prayer. A time of reflection and improving of our lives. Our homily for Ash Wednesday was actually about our Baptismal Promises. He focused on how these are the promises of our faith (the oldets ones we have). How we reject Satan and believe in the church. He talked about how Lent should be our time of trying better to live out these promises. It was quite a nice homily, and his point about the Baptismal Promises (which we renew at Easter). Lent is a time of Renewal. A somber and relaxed (if you will) time to celebrate our Lord's passion and prepare for it's celeration (and eventually Easter). Lent is a time to improve ourselves and our lives of faith. Lent is a great time of renewal, of penance, and of fasting. A time to look closely and examine our lives. A time for improvement. Let's make this Lent our best Lent possible!

God Bless,

Matthew S.
